A Long Weekend is coming up! Do you have a plan? there are many choices of what we can do on this upcoming Victoria Day Weekend but don’t search too hard because, honestly, it’s more about time spent with family and friends. You can do as simple as Home Tea Party Brunch, exploring tea palate while catching up or start the day with this Tea Part Brunch treats before going off the rest of the day activities outside.
Here is a simple Tea Party Brunch idea with a classic touch we have come up with to celebrate this long weekend:
Ham and Cheese Croissants With Honey Mustard Glaze, Simply sandwich the ingredients, bake, and enjoy. It’s the best pairing with Ceylon Tea “Nuwara Eliya”. This large leaf teas of Ceylon Nuwara Eliya produce a light amber cup with a smooth delicate fragrant brew with an exquisite bouquet flavour. Ceylon tea is known for best pair with ham with or without sweet honey note.
Smoked Salmon Puff Pastry Tart, best pairing with White Tea White Angel. This treat for Mom is easy and quick to make: trim the sheet of puff pastry, bake until puffed and golden brown. Let it cool. On the pastry, spread the cream cheese mixture with lemon zest, lemon juice, parsley, and capers, and top it with smoked salmon flakes then sprinkle with scallions.
Since the day gets warmer, it would be great to include cold fresh fruit salad drizzled with honey and lime juice to the menu, pairs with Oolong Jade Dong Ding  – a tender oxidized tea with a juicy, sweet flavour and a brilliant, jade-green cup. This tea has a long and famous history.
Now the sweet treats after the light meals, brownies square topped with vanilla ice cream pairs with Black Tea Marquis de Gris . Fruit flavoured teas are known best pairs with dessert. The fruity note from the bergamot and mango in Marquis de Gris Tea compliments the delicious chocolate taste in brownies while the tannins from the black tea would balance out the sweetness from both the cake and the ice cream.
Another idea is a simple Tea Party Brunch with summer-fun-touch especially when the weather calls for something more chilled and refreshing like our Caesar Tomato Tea, served cold with honey in chilled glass garnish with celery and green olive, or our Sansangria served cold and topped with sparkling water, followed by little brunch menu:
  • Blueberry Scones with Devonshire cream and blueberry jam.
  • Cucumber-Tomato sandwiches garnish with whole or chopped fresh mint.
  • Salmon Canapes With Horseradish Cream.
  • Strawberry Mascarpone Bruschetta and garnish with lemon zests.
  • and off course, macarons!
Hosting a Tea Party Brunch doesn’t need to be complicated and we don’t need to go with all matchy-matchy. We can use all that we have at home whether they are a different shape, different style, different colour … it will look fun and still pretty. If you are planning to host the Tea Party Brunch with your friends, have you ever thought to ask them to bring their own favourite cup or their memorable cup? It would be one of a great topic to share the story behind each cup while enjoying the menu. Even though we don’t need to go complicated to host this Tea Party Brunch, but we still need to pay attention to some details such as preparedness, setting and little decorations such as fresh cut flowers from the garden to cheer up the table.

Remember, the important thing here is spending time with family and friends … whether you are too busy or too tired or something comes up and at the last minute you find that you couldn’t pull the Tea Party Brunch off by yourself don’t hesitate to call everyone to pitch in. It’s all about spending time together and have fun. Cheers!
