It's almost Thanksgiving again! It's that time of the year that we are looking forward to, but some of us may 'fear' to, you know, overeat. The sight and smell of all the tasty foods in your kitchen will trigger those endorphins of pleasure chemicals in our brain. That can result in a strong desire to sit down and dig into a plate full of food.
So here is a little help from your tea friends: we've come up with five teas that may help you to go through this Thanksgiving feast.

Yerba Mate

Yerba Mate, with the botanical name Ilex paraguariensis, is traditionally consumed in central and southern regions of South America.  Besides known for energy-booster, Yerba Mate also is known for its properties to help suppress appetite. For this purpose, it would be best to drink yerba mate a few minutes before mealtime to curb overeating.

Pu Erh Tea

Pu-erh tea is a variety of fermented tea cultivated exclusively in the Yunnan province of China. Pu Erh tea is naturally fermented, just like wine, it's aged and gets better with time results in a mellow flavour. The fermentation process allows beneficial bacteria and fungal bacteria to develop, resulting in the tea's health benefits.
Studies have shown that Pu-Erh tea can improve digestion and can help relieve symptoms of constipation and soothe stomach ailments.
The earthy and smooth consistency makes drinking Pu-Erh tea a delight plus the health benefits. So, maybe a cup of Pu Erh tea is the answer after a heavy meal what you need this holiday festive.

Oolong Tea

Oolong tea is a semi-oxidized leaves tea from Camellia sinensis plant. The oxidation levels can vary depending on the production in which brings the flavour profile of some oolongs may lean more toward a fresh green tea and some towards to a malty black tea.  Drink a cup of Oolong tea regularly especially after meal will improve your metabolism system and help you to burn body fat.

Herbal Tea

Here are some of the herbal teas that have been shown to help with nausea, constipation, indigestion and other digestive issues. They are easy to find and to make whenever you need it or have it as a regular drink to maintain digestive health.

Chamomile tea has long been recognized as an anti-inflammatory and is used to calm an upset stomach and other digestive issues.

Dandelion contains compounds that may promote digestion by stimulating digestion and protect against ulcers.

Ginger also contains compounds known as gingerols and shogaols in which help stimulate stomach contractions and emptying. Thus, the spice may help with nausea, cramping, bloating, gas, or indigestion.   

Lemongrass is also a lovely refreshing tea to sip, especially after mealtime, as it helps to soothe your stomach. Drink this tea regularly keeps your digestive functions in check.

Licorice Root tea is known to soothe gastrointestinal problems.

Peppermint tea can be very beneficial for your digestive system and may relieve gastrointestinal symptoms such as gas, bloating and indigestion.
