Detoxing: Myth or Truth?

The big Detox Talk usually hits the high spot in Spring. But considering the holidays are usually a time of indulging and probably a bit of an overwhelming time considering our health, we find the beginning of the year is the best time to dive into this huge topic.

And yes, this topic is all over. It seems it is taking over more of the Marketing World every year. In our Social Media world, excessive information gets bombarded at us and it can be so tiring figuring out what are the right things to take out from all the information.

Bizarrely, the more varied information that we must digest the more we tend to become doubtful. We are unable to shelf all the facts, opinions or advises. And more importantly we don’t have the time to dive into one certain topic until we find our personal solution.

So, what happens? We go into a store and some random product jumps at us because it has the the word DETOX, CLEANSE, RESTORE OR WELLBEING printed all over it. And before reading the ingredients or getting informed more closely, we buy it and just assume it should help.

But really to detox we do not need an awful lot of products. Try to keep it as natural as possible and make a clear plan for yourself by following 5 Main Points

#1 · Cleanse your Diet

Eat more Greens, cleansing soups and reduce heavy toxic foods, saturated fats, dairy, sugar, alcohol and grains.

Drink lots of water and hot liquids. Following is a list of teas and their specific benefit to help detoxify:

Herbal teas
Dandelion: The vitamins and nutrients present in dandelions help cleanse our livers and keep them working properly.

Stinging Nettle: The wide range of beneficial nutrients found in stinging nettle make it an ideal detoxifier for the body and it has been known to gently cleanse the body of toxins. It also stimulates the lymphatic system, helping to rid the body of excess toxins in the kidneys as well.

Fennel: This herb stimulates digestion and has carminative effects that soothe the digestive tract and prevent the formation of gas.

Lemongrass: This herb aids in stimulating digestion, has antioxidant properties, and is a diuretic this increases the quantity and frequency of urination, which helps in cleansing and flushing harmful toxic wastes out of the body.

Ginger: Ginger is used in many popular cleansing programs, as it is thought to cleanse the body by stimulating digestion, circulation, and sweating. Its digestive actions may serve to cleanse the build-up of waste and toxins in the colon, liver, and other organs.

Green Teas
Matcha: Just one bowl provides over 5 times as many antioxidants as any other food and has also been shown to increase metabolism and help the body burn fat about four times faster than average. Due to the way Matcha Tea is made it contains high levels of chlorophyll which not only gives this tea its beautiful vibrant green color. Matcha is also a powerful detoxifier capable of naturally removing heavy metals and chemical toxins from the body.

White teas
White Tea is less processed than other forms of tea, therefore the polyphenols, a type of antioxidant, are extra potent. White tea contains ECGC, an antioxidant that prevents new fat cells from forming and fights signs of aging, like wrinkles. Research indicates that these benefits may protect against colon cancer, among other cancers.

The teas are a very important help in the detoxification process but only work in combination of following all the five steps and sticking to a disciplined plan.

We have created our own special Detox Blend Tea - A In-House blend of the most important herbs which we highly recommend drinking in combination with all the other points of a DETOX plan.
